INTRODUCTION

To take at the spiritual Altar ( madhabau). An altar is a raised structure or place, often in a house of worship, where offerings, sacrifices, or other ritualistic acts are performed.

It symbolizes the connection between the divine and the human world, representing where worship, sacrifice, and spiritual encounters occurs.
My definition is It’s a gate of transaction between the spiritual realm and the physical realm.

What is a sacrifice…?( dhabiu)
»A sacrifice is the act of giving up something valuable or important to you, often for the benefit of someone else or for a greater goal.
»It involves foregoing a personal desire, possession, or time for a reason that is considered more important or worthwhile.

A sacrifice is a conscious decision to give up something of value for a reason that is considered more important than the personal loss.

Difference between an Offering and a Sacrifice
Offering is what you give out of plenty supply ( you give comfortably without shaking your economy) Genesis 4 but sacrifice is what you give out out of your comfort zone Genesis 3:21
Sacrifice began with God, while offering began with man

Types of sacrifices:
Sacrifices can take many forms, including:
Religious or ritualistic offerings: In many religions, sacrifices involve offering something valuable (animals, food, or other items) to a deity.

Personal sacrifices: Giving up personal comfort, leisure time, or even a part of one’s life for a cause they believe in.

Material sacrifices: Forgoing possessions or wealth for a greater purpose, such as donating to charity or supporting a loved one.

Human sacrifices: In some cultures, human sacrifices were practiced as a way to appease deities or spirits.

Purpose of Sacrifices:

Sacrifices served to demonstrate faith, draw near to God, and obtain a covenant with him. They were also used to seek atonement for sin and restore purity.

What religious sacrifice should a believer PUT to altar?

1. Living Sacrifices YOU: Romans 12:1
Believers are called to offer their lives (YOU)as a “living sacrifice” to God.
This means offering their bodies and lives in service to God and others, reflecting the love and sacrifice of Christ.
This means aligning your body, mind and actions with Gods will.

This can be done through:

1. recognize your dependance on God ie good minus God equals nothing
2. Submit your will , desires, plans and fears to Gods guidance
3. Sacrificing your own needs and living a life of generosity and selflessness
4. Serve and obey
5. Be holy and acceptable

2. SACRIFICE OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP ..Hebrews 13:15-16.
Through him, then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

Acts 16:16-25 Paulo na Sila hawakutazama vidonda walitiwa na watu
Note: If you don’t SING, YOU SINK
If you don’t sing, you stink
Psalm 22:3 The Lord inhabits the praises of his people
Psalms 147:1, 7, and 12 generally, the Lord is pleased by those who praise Him

3. SACRIFICE OF PRAYER:LEVITICUS 6:12-13
The fire in the Alter must not go out. It should be kept burning throughout
Acts 12: 5- 12. When Peter was in prison, the church prayed EARNESTLY TO GOD FOR HIM

Note:  IF THERE IS A MAN TO PRAY, THERE IS A GOD TO ANSWER I JOHN 15:14

A PART-TIME CHRISTIAN CANNOT DEFEAT A FULL-TIME DEVIL
1Thess5:17 pray without ceasing Jesus prayed even unto the last minute

4. SACRIFICE OF SEED (Giving): Ecc11:6
Giving generously to God is consindered an act of worship and a way of demonstrating faith and trust in His provision eg the poor widows offering in

Note that giving is not Gods method of raising money but Gods method of raising people. Psalms 50 : 12

Seed can be offering, tithe, first fruit offering , peace offering, grain offering love offering etc

CONCLUSION

As a believer we need to know that there are things that prayers can do but seeds or praises cannot do.

There are things praise and worship can do but seeds cannot do.
There are things a live sacrifice (YOU) can do but seeds cannt do.

Therefore the four combinations arerequired in the Altar. Some are weightier than others and God recieves them by His principles

Question of the Day
Ni nini inakuzuia kupeleka all sacrifices in the altar???
