INTRODUCTION: Prayer is a communication between God and man.

-We communicate with God through prayers, and God confirms our prayers through his word.

NECESSITY PRAYERS
1) Avoid hypocrisy Matthew 6:5

2) Be sincere, our prayers should not be as shown in Matthew 6:6

3) Avoid much speaking and repetition, Matthew 6:7

4) Be sure that your prayers will be granted, Matthew 6:8

TYPES OF PRAYERS
(i) Confession -Proverbs 28:13, 1 John 1:8-9

WHY WE SHOULD CONFESS: Because we are sinners and we have fallen short of God’s glory, Romans 3:23

(ii) Praise and Thanksgiving:- Psalm 50:23, Isaiah 42:8 -25:1-2, Psalm 50:14-15

(iii) Intercessory: offering prayers for others. Acts 12:1, when you pray for others, your needs are also meant. Galatians 6:3

(iv) Petition:- prayers for yourself 1 Peter 5:7, Luke 11:9-13

(v) Imprecatory prayers- prayers for your enemies Psalm 109:1

PRAYER POSTURE
1. Standing 1 Kings 8:22

2. Raising hands 1 Timothy 2:8

3. Head bowed Genesis 2:6

4. Kneeling Daniel 6:10, Ephesians 3:14

5. Prostate Joshua 7:6, Revelation 1:17

CONDITIONS OF ANSWERED PRAYERS
(i) Praying persistently 1 Kings 18:41, Luke 18:1-18

(ii) Praiying through the name of Jesus Acts 4:2, philipians 2:10, John 14:6, Hebrews 4:14- 16

(iii) Praying in God’s will 1 John 5:13-15

(iv) Praying without doubt Mark 11:20-25

(v) Praying with right motives James 4:3

(vi) Praying with a forgiving heart, Mark 11:25

(vii) Praying with humbleness Luke 18:9-14

CONCLUSION
-If you meet these conditions, be assured that your prayers will be answered
Therefore, ask for great and mighty things, Jeremiah 33:3
