Sermon Notes

INTRODUCTION;-

In our everyday life, we meet many challenges, but they are not permanent.

-The challenges they meet on their journey home:-
Strong wind -They couldn’t control the ship because of the winds; they let it run before they went. What do we do if we have storms in our lives?

Fear of death -Pain encouraged them that none of them would lose their lives (Acts 27:22)
Do you encourage or discourage others?

Fear also had made the serious want to escape. Had lost the hope of survival.
Pain warned them, “Unless you stay in the ship, you will not be saved. (Acts 27:31)
-Unless we stay in Jesus Christ, we will sink and die.

Worry – Worry had made them stay for many days without eating.
Spiritual and physical food are important for a Christian. Jesus warned people about worrying. (Matthew 6:27) By worrying, you can’t add a single hour to your life.

Loss of cargo -Lost everything on the ship, but all 276 people were saved.
God is more interested in us than the material things we have.

Some of the things that can make us move away from God.

Pride- thinking that our strength has made us reach where we are.

Education –We think we know more than others, and we have no advice

-The army officer believed what the captain and the owner of the ship said, not Paul, who was a prisoner. (Acts 27:10)

Wealth- Today, people can do all evil things to get wealth, e.g., killing, stealing, bribes, false
teaching, etc. (Isaiah 1:23)

CONCLUSION: Through the storm, let us never lose hope, let us focus on God like Paul
-Our God is a promise-keeper; whatever we have prayed for, He will fulfill. Therefore, let us remain in Christ.
